A transformer failure knocked out key systems, including the fire alarms.

A transformer failure on Wednesday knocked out key systems at the North Warren Regional schools, but it appears classes will resume Friday, according to the superintendent.

Classes were canceled Thursday for the Blairstown Township campus as the phones, computers, fire alarms and public address systems were being restored, Superintendent Brian Fogelson said. The local elementary schools were not affected.

“We should be able to have school tomorrow,” Fogelson said.

The building never lost power, he said, and a band concert was still held Wednesday night with township police present in case of an emergency.
