Building Materials Spark Fire Near Construction Business in Dickson City

DICKSON CITY — Crews are battled a huge fire at a construction business in Lackawanna County Friday night. The smoke and flames were shooting up from Valvano’s Construction on Main Street in Dickson City, near the intersection with Viewmont Drive.  The flames could be seen for miles. Chipotle Warns Customers of Possible Identity Theft

DICKSON CITY — If you ate at a Chipotle restaurant recently, your credit card information may be at risk. Chipotle Mexican Grill confirmed hundreds of restaurants were hit by malware. According to the company, both the Wilkes-Barre Township and Dickson City locations may have been affected. Chipotle believes it happened between March 27 and April 18 and advises people to watch their credit card statements and immediately report any unauthorized charges.

Power Outage Affects Businesses, Traffic in Dickson City

DICKSON CITY — A power outage made a busy commercial district even more hectic on Saturday afternoon. According to PPL, officials shut off power as a safety precaution just before 2 p.m. after a fire started at a substation along Laybourne Street in Dickson City. DICKSON CITY — Police are asking for help to track down a man wanted in connection with a violent act in Lackawanna County. Nicholas Peterson, 42, of Gouldsboro allegedly attacked a man in the parking lot of a sporting goods store in Dickson City Thursday. Giant Flea Fair Opens After Delayed Start

DICKSON CITY — The weather finally cooperated and many people were out to buy and sell in Lackawanna County. The Giant Flea Fair opened this Sunday morning at the Circle Drive-in in Dickson City. Dozens of vendors set up to sell their goods and showcase their products. The flea market was scheduled to open the second week of March but was pushed back because of all the snow. Flea Market Opening Day Postponed Due to Snow

DICKSON CITY — Think spring! That request for passersby on Business Route 6 in Dickson City wasn’t enough for the Giant Flea Fair at Circle Drive-in to open on time. The flea market was supposed to have its opening day on Sunday, but with snow still covering the ground, that opening had to be postponed. There is no word when the new opening date will be.
