Woman Facing Drug Charges for Allegedly Writing Fake Prescriptions for Opioids

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — A woman is facing charges after an investigation found she allegedly was writing fake prescriptions for opioid painkillers. Court papers say Allyson Delfino of Greentown worked as a medical technician for doctor’s offices in both Greentown and Mount Cobb where she allegedly committed the crimes. Delfino faces felony drug charges as well as identity theft charges in Lackawanna County.

Chipotle Warns Customers of Possible Identity Theft

DICKSON CITY — If you ate at a Chipotle restaurant recently, your credit card information may be at risk. Chipotle Mexican Grill confirmed hundreds of restaurants were hit by malware. According to the company, both the Wilkes-Barre Township and Dickson City locations may have been affected. Chipotle believes it happened between March 27 and April 18 and advises people to watch their credit card statements and immediately report any unauthorized charges.

Moosic Woman Faces Identity Theft Charges

MOOSIC — A woman from Lackawanna County turned herself in this week to face identity theft and other charges. Court papers show Ann Comcowich of Moosic stole $85,000 from retirement accounts at Prudential where she worked since 1998. Investigators say Comcowich changed personal information on accounts. She had checks mailed to her parents’ address, then had her husband sign and deposit the checks into his bank account. None of the victims are local.

Identity Theft Hits Manufacturing Plant

BLOOMSBURG — Workers at an auto parts plant in Columbia County have had their personal information stolen, and the crooks have already victimized some of the workers by using their names to file phony tax returns. Some workers at the Autoneum Auto Parts plant in Bloomsburg are frustrated. Their parent company did not tell them about the identity theft for two weeks.
