Thomas S. Ontek, 42, of Greentown, Pennsylvania, was charged with felony assault and related charges in the alleged incident early Saturday at Slate Pub, 50 E. Main St.

The bouncer was not reportedly injured by Ontek, who allegedly had brandished and swung a box-cutter-style knife.

Ontek told police he was injured in the incident about 2 a.m. and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital to be evaluated, court records say.

He was arraigned about 10:30 Saturday morning on the felony count of aggravated assault in addition to misdemeanor terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and a weapons offense and summary public drunkenness.

Bangor man allegedly knocks down deputy, threatens judge after bail revoked

The deputy was cut, and the suspect banged his head on a wall “because he likes pain,” authorities said.

A 26-year-old man lashed out in Monroe County Court after his bail was revoked, injuring a sheriff’s deputy and threatening to hurt the judge, authorities said.

Darrin A. Sanderson admitted to smoking crystal methamphetamine prior to the appearance in court Sept. 28, and he now faces assault and related charges, according to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.

Sanderson is described in a news release as being from Bangor, and court records also list a Stroudsburg area address for him.

Sanderson was in court for drunken driving and related charges stemming from an incident April 16 in Hamilton Township, records say.

At his sentencing, county common pleas court Judge Arthur Zulick revoked Sanderson’s bail, causing him to become irate, authorities said.

He allegedly began to shout obscenities at Zulick and resist two deputies attempting to place him in handcuffs.

Sanderson continued to be combative in a holding area outside the courtroom, causing a sheriff’s deputy to fall backward into a retractable barricade that broke and cut the deputy’s arm, authorities said.

He allegedly then continued making threats against deputies, the judge and the “population” in Monroe County prison.

“After making these statements Sanderson struck the wall of the holding with his head and exclaimed he did this because he likes pain,” district attorney’s office Detective Mario Orlando wrote in court records.

Damage to the court facilities were repaired by county custodial staff and totaled about $94, court records say.

Sanderson faces charges in the alleged outburst of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, resisting arrest, institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

He will appear before District Judge Kristina Anzini for a preliminary hearing on a later date.
