COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP — Members of the Coolbaugh Township community came together Thursday afternoon to honor veterans. Representatives of the Coolbaugh Township Historical Association, the VFW, and other organizations proceeded to all of the cemeteries in the township, placing holiday wreaths along the way. Sending Cards and Care Packages to the Troops

DAMASCUS TOWNSHIP — A community service project in Wayne County is making sure veterans stationed overseas and here at home have everything they need for the holidays. Newswatch 16 was there as the Tri-Gal 4-H Club in Damascus Township was stuffing stockings full of everyday essentials for about 100 U.S. troops in South Korea. New Veterans Center Opens at LCCC

NANTICOKE — A new gathering place for veterans has officially opened its doors in Luzerne County. Luzerne County Community College dedicated the Patrick J. Solano Veterans Center at its campus in Nanticoke on Monday. The new center is named after the college’s trustee emeritus, who was also a flight engineer in the Air Force. The spot will serve as a space where retired and active service members can gather, study, and even meet with college counselors.

City of Scranton Honors Veterans for Their Service

SCRANTON —  Red, white and blue flags waved in the wind. About 100 people looked on as the University of Scranton’s ROTC marched on Courthouse Square in Scranton. POTTSVILLE — A new VA clinic will be opening in Pottsville in 2018. Work is well on its way an old factory on Laurel Boulevard in Pottsville.
